A committee will be set up, including expert advisers, to consider applications for grants from Kirtlington residents. Anyone wishing to reduce their own carbon footprint or with ideas for the whole village will be able to apply. Examples of the kind of project to be financed by the income generated:

* In order to acknowledge the invaluable contribution of the mill owners to the project, a first grant will be made to improve the energy-efficiency of the mill house itself.

* Individual village households may apply to improve their insulation; to have secondary glazing, solar panels or a condenser boiler installed.

* Grants could contribute towards the costs of installing photovoltaic cell panels on the roof of the Village Hall, the School and the Church, generating income for their running costs.

* Ultimately, the village could explore the possibility of building our own community-owned sustainably-fuelled combined heat and power generator.
